How did you come to PNB Banka, what was the beginning of your carrier?

I have been working in the management of investment and pension funds since 2000. 12 years ago, in 2006, PNB Banka purchased the investment management company in which I was working. Of course, much has changed since then, but we were growing all this time. In 2006 we were managing the second pillar pension assets worth 1 million euro and had 10,000 clients. Now we have already 140 million euros and more than 80 thousand customers.

 

What was your main gain while working at PNB Banka?

I am still working as a fund manager, I have occupied the post of a board member of AS "PNB Asset Management IPAS" for seven years of which four years I have been the Chairman of the Board of this company. Of course, the greatest benefit is the experience and knowledge accumulated while holding the different positions. There have been many changes through the years, both in the legislation and industry, and PNB Banka itself. The financial markets are also volatile with their growth, recessions and crises. There are always issues and things that require a solution.

 

How would you describe PNB Banka as an employer?

Today, in general, and especially in the financial sector you can’t do without internal control and risk management. Everything is determined by internal procedures, policies and instructions. However, I believe that PNB Banka employees have more opportunities for self-fulfillment and growth compared to the Scandinavian banks in Latvia. PNB Banka is more flexible, less bureaucratic and more autonomous.
